Happy New Year

to all my readers.

As some of you know, I only attended church semi-regularly before I wandered into St. Spike's. It has been a real education to see the liturgical year unfold week by week for the last year and-an-almost-half.

Well, it's my first (conscious) year in Year B. I'm excited.

Mark, it is, I think, all the way through.

Happy New Year to you, too. Happy Second Coming!

Mark's the short gospel - I heard something like it got filled in with John. Maybe someone who knows something about this will comment.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Yeah...the Gospel of John is a theologizing Gospel -- unlike the other Gospels, it's more concerned with the why than the what -- so it lends itself to being used throughout the lectionary cycle.
