It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

A. noodled me last night (at her annual holiday soiree) about not keeping up my blog. I have been thinking about it for a couple of weeks (ever since I started reverting to form, see my foodie blog) but I have had the Sinus Weirdness from Hell. Stayed home a week ago Thurs since I took an hour to get up, feed the cat, and get tea - figured nothing was going to get done at the office even if I wasn't hacking my lungs out. So now that the Christmas cards are finally out (late, but a major improvement on last year, where I started very late and lost interest because of my grandmother's death - people got Valentine's cards instead) I can blog in good conscience, at least for a short time.

I was at the grocery store yesterday and kept forgetting to get cider for wassailing the fruit trees. Oh well, by my lights I have till Epiphany to do this. About the only thing I need to do before Christmas proper is get ready for the trip (including pulling all the items out of their storage spots and wrapping them) and call the church for my grandmother's year mind.

I had a $10 off coupon at the big new natural pharmacy so decided to buy myself a "neti pot". It seems to have cleared my sinuses up. I wish I had thought to do this earlier since I blew off going to three church services this am due to sinus weirdness. I had been thinking St. Mark's Lessons and Carols was this afternoon and I would go and be able to avoid pew aerobics. But it was last weekend. Ooops. As I type this I have Grace's 11 am service up on Real Audio. Not as good as being there but I did sing "Veni, veni Emmanuel" in good voice. Also started singing "Of the Father's love begotten" around the house since I was not in the office actively listening to the service the whole time. It's starting to look a lot like Christmas, especially since I am no longer guilty about not sending out cards (which I bought, not made - simplify).

I am actually making soup right now, which is a good general "Feeling Better" sign, since it is something I frequently do on the weekend when I'm healthy to ensure work lunches. I will be working a short week, of course, but I gotta eat today and this is less work than making latkes. Which I hope to do at some point in the not too distant future - should be easier since I have the spiffy food processor.

Gotta go and do some things before the sun stops shining.
